Biography

RUTH SMITH is an abstract artist living and working in Apex, NC. During the day, she runs an instructional design business and raises two fierce girls. During her free time she is busy in her studio creating abstract, geometric art with a laser cutter or experimenting with acrylic gel prints and markers. Her work often expresses the two sides of her personality – that part which craves structure and routine and the other part that craves abstraction, uncertainty, and the downright absurd.
