Biography

Jen Dwiggins enjoys making art in a guest bedroom turned art sanctuary. She loves nature and animals. She has many bird feeders around the home to entice animal visitors, who often become the inspiration for her paintings of birds and furry friends.

Jen is a preschool teacher who always enjoyed all things "crafty" but never considered herself artistic. After an injury and surgery with a lengthy recovery period, she began watercolor painting as a form of therapy. She found watercolor to be like a toddler; entertaining, capricious, requiring patience, and a beautiful mess.

Jen enjoys learning new skills and techniques to stay inspired and challenged. She recently began painting with acrylics upon the suggestion of her husband and biggest fan, Will.

Her latest collection is a selection of five acrylic paintings on display in the Red Dog Gallery in Winston-Salem for the "Summer in the City" exhibit through August 27, 2022.
