Biography

Toni Shaw is the principal photographer and owner of Shaw Photography Group located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Toni has studied art all her life. She attended Winston Salem State University and focused on a Fine Arts degree. Early on her resume includes work in the advertising and graphic design industry.

Since moving on to photography her resume includes working with companies such as Delhaize (Food Lion) Corporation, Publications in Essence, Savoy, Shutter, Huami magazines to name a few.

Currently she has been slated as speaker for the 2018 Vision Conference for photographers in Atlanta Georgia as well as "the Photo Cookout 2019 in New Orleans, La.

She has always had a strong passion for taking photos, and is gifted in portrait, glamour, landscape, wedding, boudoir, engagement, maternity, newborn as well as many other genres of photography.

Shaw is an acclaimed Greensboro based contemporary photographer, who has gained both critical and commercial recognition for her powerful and intense colorful photographs. She is a free spirit but also an eclectic soul and this can be seen through her work. It is through these ambiguous and eclectic photographs that Shaw has developed a distinct signature style. In her humble opinion, “I especially love taking pictures of moments that are totally unscripted or unplanned!” Shaw captures moments like no other; she has a unique perspective that always goes further than just showing people how you see a scene.

For Toni, photography also lets her express herself—her opinions and beliefs. Shaw shows us this by choosing what she photographs, and how she represents it. Shaw is an ever-evolving professional photographer, and her photography is ever-changing as she changes. One can gather a great sense of what a photographer is like as a person by looking at their body of work. Shaw knows that this is a great part of photography and is absolutely fascinating as a viewer, and fulfilling as a shooter. For Shaw Photography is a fantastic story-telling medium as well.
