Biography

Originally from New York, I have lived in many places and traveled extensively, but have called North Carolina my home now for about 30 years. I’ve worked for Baptist Hospital since moving here, where I was afforded the opportunity to use my art for medical illustrations, which have been published in several medical journals.

I’ve done pieces for people in different media (colored pencils, oil pastels, charcoal, acrylics, oil paint, etc.) throughout the years, but have recently started focusing on art that I want to create, things that move me. The piece displayed above with my name, is something that has rattled around in my head for years and has finally come to life. I’ve started doing portraits to challenge myself since the human face can be difficult to capture. And I’ve been working on new techniques in abstracts in order to broaden my artistic skills.

I wish I hadn’t waited so long to develop my skills and focus on my art. But, of course, today is all we have so I’m going to create something!
