Biography

Hello. My name is Mickey Stanley. I am a co-owner at Sunshine Art Studio in Stokesdale NC.

I discovered flame working about 8 years ago and started working with clay about a year ago. I love them both. Having been a woodworker most of my life then I discovered I could sculpt glass and most recently clay. I also enjoy fusing and slumping glass. I love the colors of glass and the shapes that you can create with a torch. Clay is also a very interesting medium with a similarity to working with wood but much easier. You can shape things and carve designs with little effort but patience is a must.

I'm honored to be a part of AFAS and being allowed to exhibit my art.
