Biography
Artist Statement:
Born in the vibrant city of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the artist’s journey began in childhood, when art became an instinctive language—a way of making sense of the world before words could. Later, with a degree in Psychology, she wove her understanding of the human psyche into her practice, exploring the spaces where memory, identity, and emotion collide.
Art was never simply a pursuit; it was, and remains, a force of reckoning—a way of documenting what is felt as much as what is seen. Early exhibitions, such as "Gods, Angels, and Self-Delusions" and "Fallen Gods," examined the fragility and resilience of human relationships, inviting viewers into a deeply personal yet universal exploration of love, loss, and transformation.
Her work moves fluidly between vivid, expressive energy and moments of striking realism, embracing both the raw and the refined. Bold colors, gestural strokes, and fractured forms become a language for the shifting nature of memory—where the past is not merely lost but constantly reimagined. The act of painting mirrors the dance between remembering and forgetting, between holding on and letting go.
Each piece seeks to capture both the ephemeral and the eternal—the things we lose, the things we hold onto, and the new stories that emerge.
