•Born November 1986
•Child hood raised in Contra Costa County
•Adolescence Tuolumne County, CA
•Currently resides in Greensboro, NC
•Education: I attended Four different high schools
•Graduated 2005 From Cassina High (Sonora,CA)
•1st sculpture Started & Finish February / 13th,14th,and 15th / 2015

Artist Statement Jimmy James Shier

James has no grand vision. He doesn't care for spot lights or recognition. He doesn't have much real education. You don't want to know the time spent in writing this statement, However. To produce he draws From the Checkered Past and an unconventionally found lust for life. He does this mostly through abstract welding, Brazing and The Joining of mixed metals. Often telling a story in a way. Where things aren't always what they seem and to show us that even what appears jagged, ugly, violent, and mangled can not only be beautiful with good meaning. Like a dream the continuous wakes up to recognize, but struggles to understand.
