Biography

As a self-taught Greek-American artist, I've painted my way through the artistic community, finding my own path and voice along the way. Art has always been more than just a hobby for me—it’s been a form of therapy, a way to escape the mental exhaustion of everyday life. I started with nothing but a pencil and a black sharpie, focusing on recreating personal portraits to deeply understand the human anatomy.

As I grew as an artist, I took the plunge into acrylics, a medium that initially challenged me with its quick drying time. But I embraced the struggle, developing techniques to create more hyper realistic portraits. My love for color and pop art soon became a driving force in my work. After a deep dive into color theory, I began blending these vibrant elements with my passion for hyperrealism, developing my form of portrait painting.

I chose to paint athletic victories because their journeys resonate deeply with my own path as an artist. When I first started, I often felt inadequate, unsure if my technical skills, creativity, or imagination could ever measure up to those of other artists. My artistic journey has been, and continues to be, a rollercoaster of successes and failures—much like the careers of athletes.

These athletes inspire me because they’ve never had it easy; nothing was handed to them. They’ve struggled, worked tirelessly, and shown immense determination and discipline to become the best they can be. Their ongoing battles and resilience remind me of my own challenges in the art world. It’s the small victories, even if they’re few and far between, that fuel our passion and drive to keep going. Just as these athletes continue to push through obstacles in their careers, I’m determined to keep making my way through the art world.
