Biography

Let me introduce myself, I am Barbara (Barb) Foster and I grew up in Winston-Salem. I graduated with a business degree from ASU. Since then, I have lived in various places. My favorite place was Baton Rouge, LA. There, I became familiar with the famous, now deceased artist, George Rodrigue. George Rodrigue created the original Blue Dog. These fun and creative paintings won my heart and gave me a great appreciation for whimsical art.

Fast forward to today...

I am a beach lover, seashell gatherer and vase collector. I put all of these things together in my art to create seashell heads - or as I refer to as "Shellys". These heads are comical yet pretty. I love making them and seeing the enjoyment people get from them. From the love of Blue Dog to my Shellys I can now share my love of whimsey with all who meet them.
